1. What is your favourite romantic comedy, and why?
As Good As It Gets - It's so ridiculously funny and I love Jack Nicholson in it.

2. Name a movie that you watch over and over again without getting tired of, a film that you could put on at any time and enjoy. Reason(s)?

I have 2.
#1 Cinderella - I know it's cheesy but I love it. It makes me happy every time I watch it. The perfect fairytale.

#2 Shawshank Redemption - I've seen this movie more times than I can count and each and every time I watch it I love it even more. I always cry a little, laugh a little and when it's over I'm impressed that it gets me every time.

3. What is the first film you remember seeing in the theatre?

Jurassic Park - It probably wasn't the first movie I saw in a theatre but it's the one I remember. I was terrified. I didn't even want to see it but my dad made me because my step-brother wanted to see it.

4. Woody Allen: yes or no?
no opinion.

5. Discuss a movie you were totally hyped about seeing that left you kind of empty and/or disappointed upon viewing.

I'm going to go with something recent.
Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix - It was the longest book and the shortest movie. They took out so many important parts of the book that I thought it was hard to follow. In my opinion, they made the movie for the people who hadn't read the books.

6. Discuss a movie that you figured you'd be damned before seeing that subsequently impressed you more than you could have imagined.

Lord of The Rings - I had absolutely no interest in seeing them. I hadn't read the books and wasn't a fantasy fan. When I started dating Christian he couldn't believe that I hadn't see them and was going to do everything in his power to get me to watch them. I ended up watching them all last year. I was so hooked that I watched all of them in 1 day.

7. Ben Affleck or Matt Damon?

Matt Damon

8. What movie would you hide between your mattresses because you fear people will discover that you like it?

I don't think I would hide anything.

9. Favourite, or least favourite, Steven Spielberg film? Why? (see, you know the test is easy when there's a Spielberg question!!!) Extra credit for describing both.

There are too many favourites!
Least favourite would be Saving Private Ryan. Maybe it's because I'm not a fan of war movies but I thought it was kind of boring. I couldn't wait to get out of the theatre.

10. Which actor(s)/actress(es) do you have the biggest crush(es) on, and why?

All time crush is Ryan Reynolds. He's absolutely beautiful.

1. What is your favourite romantic comedy, and why?
My Best friends Wedding for two reasons:
1) I love Julia Roberts
2) Not completely predictable, in the end the "other woman" gets the man.

2. Name a movie that you watch over and over again without getting tired of, a film that you could put on at any time and enjoy. Reason(s)?
Jackie Brown, she's my hero.

3. What is the first film you remember seeing in the theatre?
Fantasia

6. Discuss a movie that you figured you'd be damned before seeing that subsequently impressed you more than you could have imagined.

The Devil Wears Prada. I was literaly dragged to the theatre and now I own it, recommend it and have only watched it about 10 times.

5. Discuss a movie you were totally hyped about seeing that left you kind of empty and/or disappointed upon viewing.

War of the worlds. My loathing for Tom Cruise as a person may have tainted my view a little bit, especially when every other shot was of him, but also it never ended and it should have probably 20 mins early.

7. Ben Affleck or Matt Damon?

Matt Damon

9. Favourite, or least favourite, Steven Spielberg film? Why? (see, you know the test is easy when there's a Spielberg question!!!) Extra credit for describing both.

Favourite:
It's a tie. I can't pick between E.T and Indiana Jones, I love them both for different reasons.

Hate it:

Again, War of the worlds. Can't we just have a mass burning of all copies?

10. Which actor(s)/actress(es) do you have the biggest crush(es) on, and why?

Brad Pitt, he's gorgeous and can act in a variety of roles.

1. What is your favourite romantic comedy, and why?

Bridget Jones's Diary. Because when I saw the movie for the first time and Mister Darcy told Bridget that he likes her, just as she is, all of my romantic ideals were created. And now my expectations are through the roof...Stupid movie.

2. Name a movie that you watch over and over again without getting tired of, a film that you could put on at any time and enjoy. Reason(s)?

Love, Actually. Even though it's a Christmas movie I can literally pop that film in at any time and be completely enamoured with it. It leaves you feeling so completely uplifted and seeing love...all around..you. Two questions in and I'm already a cheeseball.

3. What is the first film you remember seeing in the theatre?
That, my enigmatic old friend, would be Beauty and the Beast. That's right, I'm kickin it Disney old school.

4. Woody Allen: yes or no?

Meh. I haven't seen any of his 'greats' only that detective sleuthy one with Scarlett and Wolverine. And it was meh.

5. Discuss a movie you were totally hyped about seeing that left you kind of empty and/or disappointed upon viewing.

Knocked Up. I love 40 Year Old Virgin, like a lot. And I love Seth Rogen and I wanted this movie to be incredible and while it was pretty funny it was no where near as sweet as I wanted it to be. Oh, or Elephant. I really didn't enjoy Elephant and I thought I'd adore it.

6. Discuss a movie that you figured you'd be damned before seeing that subsequently impressed you more than you could have imagined.

Not White Chicks. This is a hard question because if I really thought I wouldn't like a movie I wouldn't go see it. Closer? Yeah! Closer. I thought I wouldn't like Closer because it's all about infidelity which I'm opposed to, but then it was so well done and so real and got under my skin. And now I love it.

7. Ben Affleck or Matt Damon?

4 words: The Talented Mr. Ripley.

8. What movie would you hide between your mattresses because you fear people will discover that you like it?

Adventures in Babysitting. I watched that movie a hundred times when I was a kid and it has so much nostalgia. Upon a viewing as an adult it's actually pretty crazy racist and homophobic and terrible. But I still can't not watch it. Plus Mark from Rent is in it!

9. Favourite, or least favourite, Steven Spielberg film? Why? (see, you know the test is easy when there's a Spielberg question!!!) Extra credit for describing both.

Favourite: An American Tale - He was an executive producer and it's about a little mouse with a big hat and my most favourite movie in the world when I was little. And ironicy titled when we lead to my least favourite movie...
Least Favourite: War of the Worlds - That movie was so much American bullshit propaganda. The kid ran into the fire. He should be dead. Not triumphant.

10. Which actor(s)/actress(es) do you have the biggest crush(es) on, and why

Colin Firth - Readabove
Natalie Portman - We're involved her and I.
Jodie Foster - She's so badass and was totally the inspiration for Scully.

1. What is your favourite romantic comedy, and why?

Does 'My Fair Lady Count'? I'm gonna say it does. I hate romantic comedies.

2. Name a movie that you watch over and over again without getting tired of, a film that you could put on at any time and enjoy. Reason(s)?

There isn't a movie I can watch over and over, all the time, but the movie I've watched the most is 'Ghost World'. I watch it about once a year because it's so damn good. I love everyone in it and everything that happens and it's fun to watch. I don't need reasons! For love!

3. What is the first film you remember seeing in the theatre?

When I was six years old my dad wanted to take me to see some kids' movie but we ended up in the wrong theatre. All I remember is people making out under a sheet and being really confused until my dad finally admitted this was the wrong movie and we left.

4. Woody Allen: yes or no?

I haven't watched anything of his aside from the first half of Matchpoint, which wasn't good enough to continue on to the second half. But I'd like to see his older stuff. I just never think to pick it up.

5. Discuss a movie you were totally hyped about seeing that left you kind of empty and/or disappointed upon viewing.

Almost every single goddamn indie movie ever. Notably 'Art School Confidential'.

6. Discuss a movie that you figured you'd be damned before seeing that subsequently impressed you more than you could have imagined.

Tremors. All of them. I hate creature movies and they're so cheesy and low budget but I love them. They're really clever and funny. They're basically buddy movies with giant man-eating monsters running around. Man I want them all on DVD!

7. Ben Affleck or Matt Damon?

Matt Damon, hands down. Ben Affleck has this shit-eating smirk and when he talks I feel like he hisses a little, spraying his spittle everywhere out of his big ol' mouth.

8. What movie would you hide between your mattresses because you fear people will discover that you like it?

Harry Effin Potter. I love those movies way too much, and not in an entirely pure way.

9. Favourite, or least favourite, Steven Spielberg film? Why? (see, you know the test is easy when there's a Spielberg question!!!) Extra credit for describing both.

Favourite: Casper. I had such a crush on Casper when I was little. He's like my ultimate boyfriend!

Least Favourite: E.T. OH MAN E.T. I maintain that my childhood would have been at least 35% healthier had it not introduced the idea of aliens to me. I was terrified.

10. Which actor(s)/actress(es) do you have the biggest crush(es) on, and why

This is so hard! I don't have crushes on actors... And they're all so good looking so I couldn't pick anyone.

1. What is your favourite romantic comedy, and why?
When Harry Met Sally because I love
how determined they are to remain good friends and nothing more just to prove a point and also because I learned a lot about how men and women think! Plus Meg Ryan is so stubborn and silly and lovable!

2. Name a movie that you watch over and over again without getting tired of, a film that you could put on at any time and enjoy. Reason(s)? Pride and Prejudice 2005 Not only do I love the story, I love the way it is filmed, the beautiful scenes and above all the music! I notice something new every time I watch it.. a glance, or a laugh or joke that I didn't notice before.

3. What is the first film you remember seeing in the theatre?
The Bear!!! I was 4 years old and it was so traumatic for me when the mama bear died!

4. Woody Allen: yes or no? I would say yes from what I've seen so far, but I haven't seen many of his films.

5. Discuss a movie you were totally hyped about seeing that left you kind of empty and/or disappointed upon viewing.
Troy. I read so much about Troy in the past that I was so excited to see it but I didn't like it at all. It was too Hollywood.

6. Discuss a movie that you figured you'd be damned before seeing that subsequently impressed you more than you could have imagined.
300.. I thought it would be all blood and guts, but I enjoyed the way it was filmed and the music.

7. Ben Affleck or Matt Damon?
Matt Damon

8. What movie would you hide between your mattresses because you fear people will discover that you like it?
I don't have one at the moment.

9. Favourite, or least favourite, Steven Spielberg film? Why? (see, you know the test is easy when there's a Spielberg question!!!) Extra credit for describing both.
War of the Worlds was the worst hands down. I have 2 favourites. Jurassic Park: the dinosaurs, the action, the acting. I practically memorized that movie! The Empire of the Sun: It was so well made and I love the story.

10. Which actor(s)/actress(es) do you have the biggest crush(es) on, and why?
Christian Bale..He's not just extremely handsome, he's smart and a great actor too.

1. What is your favourite romantic comedy, and why?
Say Anything because Lloyd Dobler has ruined me forever. (Which after a lot of therapy and time I’m ok with.) But I also loved the part where Diane grows up and learns that her dad is fallible. So yeah, true love, parental fallibility and John Cusack make me a happy girl.
She's gone. She gave me a pen. I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen.

2. Name a movie that you watch over and over again without getting tired of, a film that you could put on at any time and enjoy. Reason(s)?
I feel like Star Wars (original trilogy only!!) is self-explanatory but I’ll do my best-
a) It’s full of mythology and spaceships. I like that…
b) It’s full of evil guys in cloaks and Han Solo. Them too….
c) R2-D2 and C3-P0. It has true love too!!
d) It’s full of redemption and friendship- my 2 favourite things in movies, with mythology and spaceships running a close second.
e) “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for … He can go about his business … Move along.”. Yes sir…..

3. What is the first film you remember seeing in the theatre?
See question 2. Apparently babysitters were hard to come by back then.

4. Woody Allen: yes or no?
Hell yes-he's hilarious and a big wierdo- how can I not identify?

5. Discuss a movie you were totally hyped about seeing that left you kind of empty and/or disappointed upon viewing.
Star Wars Episode One because it shat upon all the things I listed above that I loved. (Okay, I really need to stop talking about Star Wars here because I’m losing my audience.)
My Top 5 non-Star Wars related disappointments are: Godzilla, Planet of the Apes, both Matrix sequels, Oceans 12 and the horrid adaptation of From Hell (a.k.a. From Ass) that I refuse to talk about anymore.

6. Discuss a movie that you figured you'd be damned before seeing that subsequently impressed you more than you could have imagined.
It’s a toss up between The Notebook and Roadhouse. I can’t decide today….

7. Ben Affleck or Matt Damon? I used to be a Ben Affleck-ian but my needs have changed and I’ve definitely moved on to Matt Damon. I never hated Matt Damon though-Will Hunting is one of my favourite movie characters ever.

8. What movie would you hide between your mattresses because you fear people will discover that you like it?
I just admitted to liking the Notebook and Roadhouse so I really don’t have a lot of shame.

9. Favourite, or least favourite, Steven Spielberg film? Why? (see, you know the test is easy when there's a Spielberg question!!!) Extra credit for describing both.
There is no question that it’s Jaws for me. A tiny sentimental part of me wants to say ET but Jaws was so freaking scary and good that I still get a little scared swimming in the ocean.

10. Which actor(s)/actress(es) do you have the biggest crush(es) on, and why?
Ryan. Reynolds. Is. The. Hottest. Man. Ever. I. Know. That. Isn’t. A. Good. Explanation. But. Who. Cares.

1. What is your favourite romantic comedy, and why?

Annie Hall. I love how even though situations in the film may seem ridiculous, they are still true to life, and amazingly funny and cute. Plus, Paul Simon looks wacky in it!

2. Name a movie that you watch over and over again without getting tired of, a film that you could put on at any time and enjoy. Reason(s)?

Troop Beverly Hills. I don't think I even need to explain why.

3. What is the first film you remember seeing in the theatre?
Alladin

4. Woody Allen: yes or no? YES YES YES!

5. Discuss a movie you were totally hyped about seeing that left you kind of empty and/or disappointed upon viewing.

That Serenity movie you lent me John haha.

6. Discuss a movie that you figured you'd be damned before seeing that subsequently impressed you more than you could have imagined.

The Wedding Planner

7. Ben Affleck or Matt Damon? Affleck

8. What movie would you hide between your mattresses because you fear people will discover that you like it? Spice World

9. Favourite, or least favourite, Steven Spielberg film? Why? (see, you know the test is easy when there's a Spielberg question!!!) Extra credit for describing both.

Catch Me if You Can is my fave. I loved the book, and I loved the film. It was the first time I ever liked Leo in a film.

10. Which actor(s)/actress(es) do you have the biggest crush(es) on, and why?

Steve Buscemi, Vincent D'Onofrio, Michael Pitt, Juliette Binoche, cause they are either funny of very attractive or both.

1. What is your favorite romantic comedy, and why?

Say anything. Why?? Lloyd Dobler that’s why. I mean he pushes the glass out of her way. And Pride and Prejudice (every version, but specifically the 1995 BBC Mini) because I’m girl, it’s genetic it can’t be helped.

2. Name a movie that you watch over and over again without getting tired of, a film that you could put on at any time and enjoy. Reason(s)?

Clue. Why? Two words Tim and Curry.

3. What is the first film you remember seeing in the theatre?

The Witches (1990) Well technically we (me and the birthday party I was with) only saw the first 15min or so because I was so freaked out by the 4 fingered woman I made the entire party leave. Needless to say the Birthday girl was not impressed. I watch it again years later only to find out that the 4 fingered woman was in fact a just a kindly german grandmother. Wow, is there egg on my face.

4. Woody Allen: yes or no?

YES. I mean he can’t always be good, surly the good ones like Bananas, Mighty Aphrodite, Annie Hall and Match Point make up for bad one like Small Time Crooks, Anything Else, and Hollywood Ending. I mean he’s only human.

5. Discuss a movie you were totally hyped about seeing that left you kind of empty and/or disappointed upon viewing.

Most recently George Romero’s Diary of the Dead. I love Romero, the premise was interesting, it was a midnight madness, I was so excited. (here’s where I would put a frowny face emoticon if I used them). Ok I know he loves Toronto, his girlfriend lives here, but that doesn’t mean you can bring in a principal cast. Seriously I went to high school with one of them, and his acting has not improved since then. It bad, it was soo bad. And it’s a horror so my bar is set lower.

6. Discuss a movie that you figured you'd be damned before seeing that subsequently impressed you more than you could have imagined.

Super Bad. Not usually my thing but it was wickedly funny. Example:

Fogell: What's it like to have a gun?
Officer Michaels: It's like having two cocks. If one of your cocks could kill someone.

7. Ben Affleck or Matt Damon?

Affleck, even though Damon makes better choices.

8. What movie would you hide between your mattresses because you fear people will discover that you like it?

Island of Dr. Moreau (1996). It’s compulsive, if it comes on TV I have to watch it.

9. Favorite, or least favorite, Steven Spielberg film? Why? (see, you know the test is easy when there's a Spielberg question!!!) Extra credit for describing both.

I actually don’t really like Spielberg that much, I find him over sentimental but who doesn’t like the Indiana Jones Trilogy??? But I hate AI: Artificial Intelligence the most, I can just see Kubrick spinning in his grave.

10. Which actor(s)/actress(es) do you have the biggest crush(es) on, and why?

Callum Keith Rennie since Hard Core Logo (1996) Billy is defiantly Talent. Gerard Butler since Dracula 2000 (2000) I wanted to be bit, bad. Last but Certainly not least David Tennant I mean he’s The Doctor who does want to be taken aboard the TARDIS???

1. What is your favourite romantic comedy, and why?

My first thought was Clueless, which I think is amazing. But then, what about Four Weddings and a Funeral? Wait - is Annie Hall a romantic comedy? What about Singing in the Rain? It's romantic and funny....

2. Name a movie that you watch over and over again without getting tired of, a film that you could put on at any time and enjoy. Reason(s)?

I am totally a re-watcher. Most movies I like I enjoy watching multiple times.

The first thing that came to mind for me was Rocky Horror, which is easily the movie I've seen the most times. My runner up is Cabaret, which is probably my favourite movie in general.

But then I thought about Kubrik, and how much I enjoy watching A Clockwork Orange and Barry Lyndon over and over and over. So, maybe them.

3. What is the first film you remember seeing in the theatre?

I don't remember going to the movies when I was little. I know when I was about twelve me and my brother and my dad went to Dances with Wolves....

4. Woody Allen: yes or no?

Yes and no. Annie Hall - yes. Curse of the Jade Scorpion, though? Clearly no.

5. Discuss a movie you were totally hyped about seeing that left you kind of empty and/or disappointed upon viewing.

Evita. I love the show. And Madonna looked so good. Why couldn't it have been a good movie? Why?

6. Discuss a movie that you figured you'd be damned before seeing that subsequently impressed you more than you could have imagined.

I don't know. Maybe Is Paris Burning? I don't like war movies much but it was great!

7. Ben Affleck or Matt Damon?

Matt Damon for sure.

8. What movie would you hide between your mattresses because you fear people will discover that you like it?

I'm not very shy about things I like, trashy or not. I think Erik the Viking is one of these. And Dude, Where's My Car?, which is a cinematic triumph.

9. Favourite, or least favourite, Steven Spielberg film? Why? (see, you know the test is easy when there's a Spielberg question!!!) Extra credit for describing both.

I haven't seen too many. Raiders of the Lost Ark or Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade are my favourites, I guess (I didn't see ET as a child...). I haven't seen Hook all the way through but what I did see seemed to be disasterous.

10. Which actor(s)/actress(es) do you have the biggest crush(es) on, and why?

Oh, I have crushes on every actor...! Well, at least the attractive ones....

Anonymous said...

Okay. So I'm a little late on answering this....but when am I ever on time?!

1. What is your favourite romantic comedy, and why?
While there are many that I enjoy, thereby making it difficult to choose, French Kiss is definitely in the running. Meg Ryan is the quintessential romantic comedienne, Kevin Klein is wonderful, and I adore Jean Reno. Plus, it has the line: "You people make my ass twitch". Priceless!

2. Name a movie that you watch over and over again without getting tired of, a film that you could put on at any time and enjoy. Reason(s)?
The Princess Bride. Awesome cast, funny dialogue, and a little bit of everything (romance, action, comedy, etc.). Plus I developed a huge crush on Cary Elwes...

3. What is the first film you remember seeing in the theatre?
I'm sure I saw some cartoon in the theatre before this, but the first movie that I remember seeing is Yentyl. Don't ask.

4. Woody Allen: yes or no?
Um, yes. If for no other reason than Everything You've Ever Wanted To Know About Sex But Were Afraid To Ask. Hysterical!

5. Discuss a movie you were totally hyped about seeing that left you kind of empty and/or disappointed upon viewing.
Obvious answer: any of the new Star Wars movies.

6. Discuss a movie that you figured you'd be damned before seeing that subsequently impressed you more than you could have imagined.
Pirates of the Caribbean. I thought the previews looked ridiculous, then people started talking about how great it was and I wanted to see for myself so I could prove them wrong. Oops.

7. Ben Affleck or Matt Damon?
Are we talking acting ability or who we want to sleep with? I'm happy with either...and the answer remains the same regardless of which question.

8. What movie would you hide between your mattresses because you fear people will discover that you like it?
Asian ASSault.

9. Favourite, or least favourite, Steven Spielberg film? Why? (see, you know the test is easy when there's a Spielberg question!!!) Extra credit for describing both.
I love the Indiana Jones movies (probably Raiders of the Lost Ark would be my fave), but I'm also a sucker for his overly sentimental movies like Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List. Least favourite....I haven't seen War of the Worlds and I have absolutely no desire to. Reason: Cruise.

10. Which actor(s)/actress(es) do you have the biggest crush(es) on, and why?
Angelina Jolie. She excudes sex and seduction, has a love of the darker side, and I think I could have a lot of fun with her.
Sean Connery. That voice, those eyes, and he's aged so well. Aside from some questionable career moves ("You want me to play Gandalf? I don't get it"), he is talented. And I adore him in Playing By Heart.
Johnny Depp. I've been in love with him since 1987...even so far as to sit through Cry Baby...twice.
